Practical tips for your own visit
- Start early (around 7–8 AM) for easier parking and good light at viewpoints.
- Bring hiking shoes, water, snacks, and a light jacket — it gets cooler and windier higher up.
- Download offline maps; mobile signal is weak in some areas.
- Cash is useful for village shops, parking, and local products.
- In winter, check road conditions before leaving; chains may be required.
- Respect marked paths near waterfalls — rocks can be slippery after rain.

The main reason to come — several waterfalls within short drives or walks. Plan 2–3 hours total for photos and short walks; some require a few minutes on foot from parking.
- Topli Do
Authentic mountain village — coffee break, local cheese and honey, traditional houses. A good mid-route stop before continuing toward higher viewpoints.
- Dojkinci
One of the best-known villages on Stara Planina — architecture, hospitality, starting point for hikes. Allow time for a walk through the village and views of surrounding peaks.
